Coping crown molding

Inside corners deserve a good cope

What can coping cuts do for your crown molding?
Coping crown molding means that one piece of molding will fit over another piece in the corner of a room. Coping your molding will ensure that the intersection of these two moldings is not noticeable. In other words you don't have an ugly gap in the corner of your room due to an un-square room, wood's instability, or seasonal movement.

All this is accomplished with a coping saw! A simple cut can make the difference between a so-so crown molding and a beautiful crown.

Coping is probably faster than attempting to find the correct angle with with the miter saw.
